The Municipality of Campana officially inaugurated the new long-distance bus terminal at the intersection of Andrés del Pino and San Martín. The facility is designed to improve passenger waiting conditions and regulate the traffic of large vehicles in the city center. According to the Argentine News Agency, during the event, Mayor Sebastián Abella stated that the project aims to address complaints about damage to streets and homes caused by the passage of heavy buses, as well as to enhance the quality of daily service for passengers. According to transport authorities, starting Monday, December 15th, the express service from one company will no longer enter the city and will depart exclusively from the terminal; the first service is scheduled for 5:30 AM. The Municipality also noted that other routes will continue to circulate through the center, but with changes to stops (including the relocation of a traditional stop on San Martín) to the new facility to centralize operations. Concurrently, local lines will add a detour with a stop at the external platform to facilitate connections, while the site will feature 24/7 security, restrooms, Wi-Fi, municipal monitoring, as well as a cafeteria and a rest area for drivers. Local executives have announced that the new scheme will be monitored in the first weeks to adjust signage and the dynamics of boarding and disembarking, with the goal of consolidating a “more orderly” operation and a “safer” wait for passengers.
