The singer Ángela Leiva reported her ex-partner and ex-manager, Mariano Zelaya, for violence and harassment. After a long struggle, the Justice System finally issued a resolution that provides her peace of mind. "Protective measure against Mariano Zelaya. The peace court of Brandsen ordered that Mr. Mariano Zelaya cease immediately and refrain from harassing, intimidating, and/or disturbing me," announced Ángela Leiva on her social media.
Ángela joyfully shared the protective measure and explained that for years she had been normalizing that situation until she finally decided to take a stand and report it. The court, considering Zelaya's violent behavior in several aspects, such as physical, psychological, economic, digital, and symbolic, and the possibility of that behavior worsening due to the advancement of his artistic career and his new romantic relationship, made a series of decisions in less than 24 hours.
Among the points of the protective measure are: the activation of the judicial holiday, the prohibition of approaching within 50 meters, the cessation of harassment, disturbance, and intimidation in any form that could affect her physical integrity or property, both in real space and in digital space. Additionally, the provision of a panic button to Ángela Leiva and that Mariano Zelaya receive psychological attention from specialized professionals was established. In case of disobedience, the stipulations in article 239 of the penal code will be applied.
