A tragic road accident on Sunday morning on kilometer 35 of Route 36, near Berazategui towards Buenos Aires, resulted in one death and one serious injury. According to police, the incident occurred when a brown Ford EcoSport lost control, hit a guardrail, and crashed into a stone bridge. Due to the strong impact, one occupant died at the scene, while his companion was rescued and taken in critical condition to the Evita Pueblo de Berazategui Hospital. The deceased was identified as Sergio Daniel Reyes, 43, from Quilmes. His body was transferred to the Ezpeleta Morgue. The accident also caused a detached wheel and part of the EcoSport's engine to hit a Renault Duster, license plate AG368XZ, driven by 71-year-old Eduardo César García, who was unharmed. The road was completely closed for several hours to allow forensic experts, firefighters, and morgue staff to work, with detours via the service road. The case was filed as “culpable homicide and culpable injury” and is being handled by UFI No. 7, led by Karina Santolín.
