On the other hand, Peru has lost the venue for the Under-20 South American Championship scheduled for 2025, due to the crisis in the Peruvian Football Federation caused by the detention of its president, Agustín Lozano. In light of this situation, Conmebol is working to find a new host country for the qualifying tournament for the Under-20 World Cup that will take place in Chile between September and October.
The crisis in the Peruvian Football Federation was triggered recently by the detention of Agustín Lozano and other officials, accused of ties to a criminal organization called 'Los Galácticos.'
