Colapinto on the China GP: a great opportunity

Formula 1 driver Franco Colapinto (Alpine) expressed his hopes ahead of the Chinese Grand Prix and stated that "it is an opportunity and we must take advantage of it." Colapinto arrived at the first round of the season in Australia with very high expectations, mainly due to the excellent pre-season he had, where he achieved good results in Spain and Bahrain. However, his Alpine did not perform at its best in Australia, and he had to settle for 14th place, while his teammate, the Frenchman Pierre Gasly, finished 10th and managed to score a point. For this new round of the championship, Colapinto emphasized in an interview obtained by Agencia Noticias Argentinas that "we have a new opportunity and we must take advantage of it." Regarding the Shanghai International Circuit, he detailed that "it is very technical, with long corners and many different speeds. It is quite difficult," so he stressed the importance of "adapting quickly to the car and learning quickly." The Argentine also referred to his miraculous move at the start of the Australian GP to avoid a serious collision with New Zealander Liam Lawson (Racing Bulls), whose car stalled on the grid: "I was lucky to react very quickly. It's not something you prepare for, it comes naturally." And he added: "I was very close to Liam."
