Argentine Formula 2 driver Nicolás Varrone (Van Amersfoort) had a poor performance in the sprint race of the Australian Grand Prix, finishing in 21st place. The winner was Paraguayan driver Joshua Duerksen (Invicta Racing), who seeks to establish himself as one of the top prospects in the category. Varrone, who started from 19th position, had a good start and quickly climbed two positions. However, he spun at one of the last corners of the first lap, which left him far behind the pack. In terms of the fight for victory, Duerksen started in second place and, despite a weak start, was already leading the race after one lap. The podium was completed by Mexican Noel León and Irishman Alex Dunne, while the other drivers who finished in the top eight to score points were Thai Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, Japanese Ritomo Miyata, Italian Gabriele Mini, Dutch Laurens van Hoepen, and Polish Roman Bilinski.
