Argentine driver Nicolás Varrone completed the second day of Formula 2 pre-season testing at the Barcelona-Catalan circuit with a day of contrasts, marked by solid performance in the morning and a drop in the classification during the afternoon, finishing twentieth. The driver from Ingeniero Maschwitz, at the wheel of the #22 Dallara for the Van Amersfoort Racing team, once again showed competitiveness in the Wednesday morning session. There, according to what the Argentine News Agency could find out, he set a time of 1:23.760 that allowed him to be in sixth place, just 0.130 seconds off the best mark of the session. In addition, he completed 38 laps on the Catalan track, adding crucial mileage to his adaptation process to the category. However, in the afternoon session, the Argentine failed to repeat that performance. With a best time of 1:25.363, the day ended for Paraguayan Joshua Duerksen, who finished twentieth, 5.544 seconds behind the fastest time of the afternoon.
