The Pumas 7 Prepare for Their Challenge in Vancouver

The Los Pumas 7'a team, led by Santiago Gómez Cora, is preparing to participate in the next stage of the World Seven Circuit, which will take place in Vancouver from February 21 to 23. After their successful operation, the goal of the team is to consolidate their leadership in the circuit and maintain the level that led them to win the gold medal in Perth.

In the last stage held in Perth, Los Pumas 7'a won the gold medal by defeating Australia in the final, adding 48 points to the overall table and sharing first place with Fiji and Spain. After this triumph, the Argentine team will seek to reaffirm their dominance on Canadian soil, where they have been champions in recent editions.

The International Rugby Federation confirmed the elimination of the Rugby Seven World Cup, a competition that had been held since 1993 in the men's category and since 2009 in the women's category. This decision is part of the reduction of stages in the World Series, going from eleven in 2022-23 to only seven in the current season, with the aim of focusing on the annual circuit and the Olympic Games.

Los Pumas 7'a will be in Group A alongside France, Great Britain, and Kenya in the next stage of the World Circuit, representing a high-level challenge for the Argentine team. This will be an opportunity to maintain their performance and continue advancing in their path toward the global title in this competition.
