Former soccer player Sergio "Kun" Agüero met at the Casa Rosada with Santiago Caputo, advisor to Javier Milei, the president. The meeting revolved around the initiative to introduce Sporting Anonymous Societies (SAD) in Argentine football.
Agüero entered Caputo's office at Balcarce 50 and left 40 minutes later. No details of the meeting were revealed, and both Agüero and Milei's advisor avoided the press. They also met with Juliana Santillán, a libertarian congresswoman, who shared a photo with Agüero on her Instagram account with the phrase "Free Football!!".
In recent months, Agüero has expressed support for Milei's administration and in July voiced his support for the initiative to introduce SAD in Argentine football, which goes against the position of Claudio "Chiqui" Tapia, president of the AFA, and political sectors like Kirchnerism.
Agüero highlighted: "What's going on? Are they scared because of their own benefits? Remembering with Kun Aguero, so many years touring with the Argentine national team, and now discussing the government's project to promote capital investments and improve club infrastructure in Argentine football and create a more competitive league".
He hopes that club members will be granted the right to vote and allowed to make decisions. Additionally, he held meetings with Guillermo Tofoni, head of World Eleven, a FIFA-licensed company to organize international football matches.
Agüero has been critical of those who oppose SAD, claiming that if you say "no" it means no, and if you say "yes" it means private. His support for this initiative has generated controversy and remains a topic of discussion in the sports sector in Argentina.
