The musician Miguel del Pópolo was convicted of sexual abuse, and the Justice ordered his immediate detention. During the trial, various messages sent by the musician to the complainants after the incidents were shown, where he apologizes but claims not to remember what happened. 'He is a total liar; in each of the abuses, he claims he was drunk and that it was the first time it happened: he knows very well what he did to the three and yes, he remembers what happened.'

The prosecution representing two of the complainants had requested 31 years in prison, while the defense, after questioning the accounts made by the young women and the dissemination of the videos where they recounted what happened, requested his acquittal on the grounds of reasonable doubt. However, on Tuesday, the court sentenced him to 27 years in prison and requested his immediate detention.

The vocalist of the rock band 'La Ola Que Quer í a Ser Chau' was found guilty concerning three complainants, one of the cases classified as repeated. 'The Oral Criminal and Correctional Court No. 25 sentenced Miguel del Pópolo to 27 years in prison for having sexually abused three women. Furthermore, his immediate detention was ordered, according to what General Prosecutor Guillermo Pérez de la Fuente had requested in his argument. The grounds will be made known on November 27,' details the announcement from the Buenos Aires Public Prosecutor's Office.

It was also ordered that once the sentence becomes final, a genetic profile of the man be obtained and extracted so that it can be submitted to the Genetic Data Bank. At the same time, Del Pópolo was acquitted of the charge of minor injuries, 'since the prosecutor had considered that this sequence was time-barred.' During the accusation stage, the prosecutor stated that the vocalist 'derived pleasure from having sexual relations causing pain and suffering.' 'It was relevant to analyze the evidence from the three cases in an integrated manner as they refer to similar behaviors perpetrated by the same man towards three different women,' the document highlights.

Pérez also recalled a line from one of the musician's songs: 'I want to f*** you while you are asleep and have you think that I am God,' and added: 'For Del Pópolo, sexual acts do not need the consent of the other person; only his will matters.
