The ATE union will assess the possibility of carrying out a new strike before the end of the month. The decision is due to concerns about the "strong loss of purchasing power," which they estimate has exceeded 34% after the last wage offer by the Government, which was 2% for November and 1% in December, according to a statement.
In addition to the salary issue, ATE is demanding the end of layoffs in the public sector and the immediate reinstatement of all those who have been dismissed "illegitimately." They also oppose the privatization of state-owned companies and the emptying of public agencies.
In a recent meeting, the importance of building a measure of force that can withstand the attacks of the administration was emphasized. According to what was announced, ATE will call its organic bodies to a federal assembly to decide the next steps in the fight plan for state employees.
As one of the union representatives pointed out: "We are being severely attacked not only by the Government but also by economic power."
