The Buenos Aires Civic Radical Union (UCR) presented the RA Movement, an initiative that will include a series of public events, cultural activities, conferences, film screenings, and photographic exhibitions aimed at "defending democracy and the legacy" of the late former president Raúl Alfonsín. The UCR Provincial Committee announced that the event will take place from November 1 to December 10, with the goal of recovering "the spirit of respect and tolerance" characteristic of the democratic transition led by Alfonsín.

In a context where there is an increase in divisive speech and attacks on key figures of Argentina's democratic history, the Buenos Aires UCR highlighted the importance of remembering and valuing the legacy of Raúl Alfonsín. The series of activities, which will feature political, union, academic, cultural, and sports leaders from across the country, will culminate on December 10 with a central event of national reach.

Javier Milei, president of the party La Libertad Avanza, generated controversy by criticizing Raúl Alfonsín on the occasion of Democracy Recovery Day. In his statements, Milei questioned Alfonsín's image as "father of democracy," claiming that he was in favor of a coup, referring to the crisis of 2001. Milei's stance has generated reactions and prompted the UCR to emphasize the importance of remembering and honoring Alfonsín's work in the democratic transition process in Argentina.
