The General Director of Taxation of the Revenue and Customs Control Agency (ARCA), Andrés Edgardo Vázquez, has made a series of structural and personnel adjustments within the organization with the aim of aligning roles with the agency's new goals. These changes respond to a strategy of redistributing human resources to focus on areas of greater activity and operational demand.

In a press conference, presidential spokesperson Manuel Adorni defended the decisions made at ARCA by Vázquez. One of the relevant provisions was the implementation of Provision 176/2024, which entailed changes in key positions within the General Directorate of Customs (DGA) to strengthen operability and achieve fiscal and customs objectives.

Through decrees and provisions, Vázquez reorganized strategic functions within the DGA, ensuring the fulfillment of control and collection goals in the customs field. These decisions are part of a broader plan to reinforce customs operations and ensure compliance with national tax regulations without compromising the job stability of employees.

The National Treasury's Procuracy supports the possibility of relocating personnel if the institution requires it, as long as it does not affect the permanent rights of employees. The objective of the actions taken at ARCA is to optimize the agency's workforce without harming employee stability in their original positions, adapting the DGA to the current demands of the sector.

Among the changes made, notable appointments include Rosana Ángela Lodovico as General Counsel, Marcelo Alejandro Sosa as Deputy General Director of Metropolitan Customs Operations, and Juan Manuel Francia as Deputy General Director of Customs Control. These new responsibilities allow officials to take unpaid leave, in accordance with the applicable Collective Labor Agreement, and to meet the management objectives proposed by Vázquez to strengthen customs control and collection at ARCA. There is still uncertainty regarding Vázquez's professional trajectory and how he came to hold the position of General Director of Taxation, while the name of Rosana Lodovico arises among the individuals.
