The Minister of Deregulation and State Transformation, Federico Sturzenegger, announced that the General Audit Office of the Nation (SIGEN) will begin an audit at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) to verify how resources are managed in public universities. In this regard, Sturzenegger emphasized the need to eliminate opacity and privileges in the regulatory framework, stating that it is essential for the expenses of educational institutions to be recorded in the public spending sector.
In statements to a media outlet, he referred to the salary dispute in universities and the need for labor reform that benefits both workers and companies. He underscored the importance of government decisions being oriented towards the benefit of society as a whole and not to particular interests.
Sturzenegger criticized the lack of transparency in the management of public funds in the university sector and pointed out the need for hiring processes to comply with public procurement regulations to ensure greater clarity in the use of resources. Likewise, he emphasized the importance of legislative reforms being equitable and fair for both parties involved.
The minister highlighted the passion and commitment of Javier Milei, President of the Nation, to his proposals and stressed the need to promote a favorable environment for small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as for the development of industry without legal risks. In this regard, he expressed support for guaranteeing a regulatory framework that favors economic growth and job creation.
In relation to institutional challenges, Sturzenegger mentioned the obstacles encountered in Congress to advance key reforms, such as pension and university financing, highlighting the importance of a democratic debate in which various state instances can find consensus to promote significant changes for the benefit of society.
