Ricardo Quintela expressed his disbelief at the recent actions in the internal electoral field of his party. Following an attempt by a group of colleagues to promote Cristina's participation in the contest, the process became complicated, marked by obstacles and controversies. The governor of La Rioja mentioned that this process has involved persecution and political pressures at the national level.
The situation became complicated for Quintela when the Electoral Board rejected his list, named 'Federales, a shout from the heart,' due to a lack of necessary endorsements, giving him a 24-hour period to rectify the deficiencies and be able to compete with Cristina Kirchner. The party's representatives communicated that the submitted list did not meet the required 2% of the affiliate registry, which was one of the reasons for the rejection.
It was confirmed that, although 70,531 registrations were submitted, there were discrepancies in the validation of 60,755 endorsers, with thousands of invalid cases due to lack of documentation or illegible signatures. In light of these irregularities, the Electoral Board granted the party one day to correct the inconsistencies and confirm the necessary number of affiliates to support Quintela's candidacy.
Quintela responded to this situation with discontent, labeling the act as an attempt at 'privatization' of the party, and criticized the actions of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner's environment. The governor emphasized that the previously expressed willingness for change is obstructed by political and regulatory maneuvers, reaffirming the belonging of the Peronist movement to its members.
