President Javier Milei received the Peronist governors and independent sector representatives who supported the veto protection of the University Financing Law at the Quinta de Olivos. On this occasion, he hosted Raúl Jalil (Catamarca), Osvaldo Jaldo (Tucumán), Gustavo Sáenz (Salta), and Hugo Passalacqua (Misiones) with a dinner, thanking them for their support, which ensured a new legislative victory for the government.
The meeting, which took place in the Quincho de Olivos, began around 21:00 and was attended by the General Secretary of the Presidency, Karina Milei, Chief of Staff Guillermo Francos, and advisor Santiago Caputo. The governors expressed their willingness for dialogue and camaraderie, highlighting the importance of strengthening ties between the national government and the provinces.
Raúl Jalil mentioned his interest in listening and enjoying a pleasant moment, while Osvaldo Jaldo attended the dinner without a card or money but with several requests to address. This gesture of thanks contrasted with the previous gathering that Milei offered to the legislators who supported the rejection of the pension reform.
It is worth mentioning that Cristina Kirchner pointed out these governors for their closeness to the current administration rather than supporting Peronism. The meeting in Olivos served as a suitable space to strengthen the relationship with governors willing to engage in dialogue, ahead of the 2025 Budget debate.
