Irregularities in the Peronist Party Elections

The minister of La Rioja, Jorge Yoma, warns about issues in the electoral list of Ricardo Quintela. The electoral board will review irregularities and postponing the elections is being considered to ensure transparency.

Irregularities in the Peronist Party Elections

The official from Quintela, Jorge Yoma, stated: “Peronism cannot make a fool of itself.” He announced that this week he will meet with the Electoral Board to analyze the preparations for the elections, including polling places, necessary financial resources, the Argentine Postal Service, and national electoral justice.

The representatives of Cristina Kirchner in the race for the presidency of the Justicialist Party reported various irregularities in the list headed by the governor of La Rioja, Ricardo Quintela. In a presentation signed by Teresa García, Anabel Fernández Sagasti, and Gustavo Arrieta from the “First the Homeland” front, it was noted that the list “Federales un Grito de Corazón” is incomplete, includes candidates without proper identification documentation, and there were supposed endorsements and falsified signatures.

The representatives requested the Electoral Board to verify within 24 hours whether Quintela’s list meets the formal requirements to participate in the internal competition. With this action, the campaign team of Cristina Kirchner, who is the main favorite to win the internal election, demonstrates its determination to challenge the La Rioja candidate and ensure that the rules of the game are followed.

The Minister of Government and Justice of La Rioja, Jorge Yoma, expressed in television media that the party currently does not have the necessary operational structure to carry out an internal of such magnitude, something that has never been done before in the history of Peronism. He raised the need to postpone the election date for at least 30 more days, seeking to establish a conversation about it.
