The senator from Formosa and candidate for vice president of the PJ on Cristina Kirchner's list, José Mayans, assured that the former president "feels hurt" that the governor of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, does not publicly support her. Mayans pointed out: "She said, ‘I respect what the governor decides but obviously it hurts me.’"
Mayans also denied that the phrase about Pontius Pilate and Judas from the former president was aimed at the provincial leader. He explained that Cristina Kirchner mentioned Pontius Pilate and Judas in reference to those who distance themselves from the decisions of the national government and to the governors who came to power following the party platform. Additionally, he pointed out that the criticism was directed at "the Peronists who go to eat barbecue with (Javier) Milei."
Amid tensions, the senator recalled Axel Kicillof's political path to the government of the province of Buenos Aires, accompanied by La Cámpora. Mayans emphasized that the real problem is Milei's management and the need to unite efforts to define the country's direction on issues such as education and health.
The legislator expressed confidence that, once the party elections are over, everyone will be able to sit at the same table and work together. He highlighted the importance of deciding what kind of state is desired for Argentina, putting aside internal differences and focusing on the challenges facing the country. In Mayans' words, "That is what needs to be discussed; the central issue is that, not the other."
