Deputy Federico Pelli Attacked in Tucumán

National deputy Federico Pelli of La Libertad Avanza (LLA) was brutally attacked this afternoon while participating in a solidarity operation with the victims of the floods affecting much of Tucumán province. For unknown reasons, Pelli was confronted by Marcelo 'Pichón' Segura, a local operator linked to Peronism, and during the argument, the deputy received a furious headbutt that caused a wound to his nasal septum. According to the Argentine News agency, the incident occurred on Route 157 in the town of La Madrid, located in the southwest of the province, one of the most affected by the weather event that began last Sunday and caused havoc in different parts of the province. After the attack, Pelli, who was left bloodied, confirmed that he will file a complaint against Segura, who is linked to the Tucumán Minister of the Interior, Darío Monteros. The deputy had gone to La Madrid with former deputy Paula Omodeo and the mayor of Concepción, Alejandro Molinuevo, to deliver various items to the affected families in the area.
