The Government of Argentina officially appointed Sebastián Amerio as the new head of the Procurator's Office of the Treasury, the body in charge of the State's legal representation. This was indicated through a report published in the Official Bulletin, accessed by the Argentine News Agency. This appointment is part of the cabinet changes following the appointment of Juan Bautista Mahiques as Minister of Justice. Amerio's appointment was made known through various decrees in which his resignation as Secretary of Justice of the Ministry and as a representative of the Executive Branch before the Council of the Magistracy was accepted. Santiago Viola was appointed in his place. In another decree, the resignation of Santiago María Castro Videla as Prosecutor of the Nation's Treasury was accepted, but he will not leave his post and will be the Sub-Prosecutor, a recently created position that was also officially published in the Official Bulletin. “A third position of Sub-Prosecutor of the Nation's Treasury is created within the scope of the Procurator's Office of the Nation's Treasury,” the Official Bulletin stated, while it was also reported that Amerio began his duties on March 6.
