Mass Protests in Argentina Against the Government

Throughout this week, organizations of teachers, various unions, and retirees will mobilize across the country in protest against the National Government. Additionally, feminist groups will hold the march for International Working Women's Day. This Monday, a major international mobilization and strike called by the Ni Una Menos collective began to draw attention to gender-based violence and the wage gap, within the framework of International Women's Day. Starting Tuesday, teacher unions will hold mobilizations in Bahía Blanca, convened by the Unified Workers' Union of Education of Buenos Aires (SUTEBA) and the Multicolor, to demand salary adjustments and demand the opening of negotiations for collective bargaining. Other unions representing state employees will continue with forceful measures and sectoral assemblies in rejection of the wage policies and the Labor Modernization Law promoted by President Javier Milei's administration. On Wednesday, the traditional retirees' march in defense of their rights is expected, where they will once again demand an increase in benefits and reject the pension reform proposed by the ruling party.
