Buenos Aires, February 24 (NA) – The inmate who accused Leonardo Airaldi of hiring a hitman to kill a judge, a prosecutor, and the Minister of Security of Entre Ríos has been transferred from prison after reporting that he was being targeted following the serious accusation against the former head of the Diamante Rural Society.
Federal Judge of Paraná, Daniel Alonso, authorized the transfer of Daniel Tavi Celis after he, through his lawyer, requested immediate protection in a habeas corpus petition. This decision was made after Celis reported an attempted murder, accusing Airaldi of having hired a Uruguayan hitman to kill federal Judge Leandro Ríos and federal Prosecutor Ignacio Candioti in Punta del Este.
It was also learned that the Minister of Security of Entre Ríos, Néstor Roncaglia, is on the list. In this way, to avoid any future conflicts, Celis was transferred from the Gualeguaychú prison to Unit 1 of Paraná Penitentiary, according to the Argentine News Agency.
This inmate was prosecuted and his assets embargoed in November 2025 for leading a criminal drug network from prison. The accusation emphasizes that “he gave direct orders, coordinated meetings, and planned operations from inside Unit 1 Penitentiary.”
Celis had been sentenced to over 15 years in prison for the “narcotown” and “narco-plane” cases. In turn, he was also accused of a violent robbery.
