The national government officially extended the extraordinary sessions of Congress today, extending the legislative period until February 28. This was indicated through Decree 103/2026, published this Wednesday in the Official Gazette, which was accessed by Noticias Argentina agency and is signed by President Javier Milei and spokesman Manuel Adorni. “The Extraordinary Sessions of the Honorable National Congress, convened by Decree No. 24 of January 18, 2026, are extended until February 28, 2026,” the document states. The decision is based on the powers granted by articles 63 and 99, section 9 of the National Constitution, which empower the Executive Branch to convene and extend sessions outside the ordinary calendar. Additionally, the document states: “Included in the agenda for the Honorable National Congress to be addressed during the Extraordinary Sessions convened from February 2, 2026, is the consideration of the Reform Project of Law No. 27.795 on Financing of University Education and Teacher Salary Remuneration to be sent by the National Executive Branch”.
