Buenos Aires, January 22 (NA) – Felipe Sosa, the former military man detained for the murder of Erika Álvarez, the young woman found murdered in a landfill in Tucumán, has been charged and remanded in custody after a hearing. The hearing took place after the accused was transferred from Buenos Aires, where he was arrested, to the province where the brutal murder was committed. Judge Bernardo L'Erario confirmed that on Wednesday, Sosa was formally charged and six months of preventive detention were ordered in the framework of the brutal murder of Álvarez. As reported by the Argentine News Agency, following an investigation, he was arrested on January 16 and transferred to Tucumán in a special operation. He is currently being held at Unit 6 of the Benjamin Paz Penitentiary Complex, a facility specifically for individuals who belonged to police or federal forces and have a direct connection to the crimes they are accused of.
In turn, Picón revealed gruesome details from the autopsy results, which confirmed that the death was caused by a craniofacial and cervical trauma, resulting from direct and precise blows to vital areas. This also caused a temporomandibular dislocation. Furthermore, regarding how the young woman's body was found in a landfill in the Manantial Sur neighborhood, the prosecutor added that Sosa placed the body in three bags, sealed them with tape, and then tied them with a rope before moving it to the vacant lot, as highlighted by the outlet Contexto.
Following that operation, the former military man fled to Pilar, in the province of Buenos Aires, where his brother lived.
