The government of the Province of Buenos Aires, led by Axel Kicillof, through the Provincial Directorate of Roads, is once again imposing a restriction on the circulation of large trucks on various provincial routes for Christmas Eve and New Year's Day. This measure aims to streamline traffic and prevent accidents during the tourist exodus for the end-of-year celebrations and January 1st. As is customary for special dates, the restriction on truck traffic will apply in both directions during peak hours on the roads connecting the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires to the main destinations on the Atlantic Coast, which has been receiving tourists for the 2026 summer season for several days now. Trucks will be allowed to travel until 6 AM tomorrow, December 31st, when the provincial measure will be activated, lasting until 2:00 PM in the direction of the Atlantic Coast. Subsequently, permission will only be granted for a few hours, as from January 1, 2026, the passage of large trucks on provincial routes towards the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires will be interrupted from 2:00 PM to 11:59 PM. Gases necessary for the operation of healthcare centers, as well as gases transported to individuals for home healthcare assistance, in both cases, when it is verified that they are being transported to these destinations. Transport of medicines. Transport to final disposal sites for urban and/or pathological solid waste. Transport that must circulate in direct and immediate compliance with a court order. Transport of tallow, bone, and hides. In cases where it opposes provisions issued in the same sense by the National Transport Management Secretariat and/or the National Traffic and Road Safety Commission, and/or the National Road Safety Agency, on the same road, day, and time.
