The La Matanza municipality, led by Fernando Espinoza, has launched a special forces prevention base in the locality of Ramos Mejía, with the aim of strengthening security in the district's first ring and responding to the most complex crimes. According to information from the Argentine News Agency, the new base operates with motorized and high-mobility patrols, prepared to act especially against the modality of ' motochorros ' (motorcycle thieves) and robberies in commercial areas and busy corridors. The project was made possible through joint work between the Buenos Aires provincial Ministry of Security, led by Javier Alonso, and the municipality, which defined the location at a strategic point in the district to quickly reach different localities. As officially reported, the base is integrated into the existing surveillance scheme, which includes patrol cars, cameras, and saturation operations on access roads and in urban centers, and is part of an agenda that seeks to 'improve the State's presence on the streets' and strengthen coordination with provincial forces. In the commune, they point out that this infrastructure will reduce response times, deepen motorcycle patroling, and strengthen control during nighttime hours, especially in the commercial areas of Ramos Mejía and at key points on the provincial road network.
