Man in Argentina Sentenced to 15 Years for Abuse of Daughter and Niece

In Argentina's Salta province, a man was sentenced to 15 years in prison for sexually abusing his daughter and his niece. According to information from the Public Prosecutor's Office, accessed by the Argentine News Agency, the Justice determined that the perpetrator is criminally responsible for the crimes of seriously offensive sexual abuse by repetition and aggravated by custody, kinship, and cohabitation, and sexual abuse with carnal access, all in real concurrence, as it was his daughter. The events occurred when the minor was between 7 and 11 years old, and he was also found guilty of attacking his niece from the age of 6 after sexually abusing her with aggravated carnal access by cohabitation (two events) in real concurrence. The Unit for Crimes against Sexual Integrity intervened in the case following the complaint by the mother of one of the girls, who confessed to being a victim of her father. In turn, an aunt of the victim filed another report with the Justice, stating that her relative had experienced situations similar to those of her cousin. Socio-environmental and psychological reports were fundamental to clarifying the case, so Judge Gabriela Romero Nallar issued a guilty verdict for the involved party, who received 15 years in prison. The magistrate also ordered the Molecular Biology Service of the Technical Department of the Prosecutor's Investigative Corps (CIF) to extract the genetic material of the abuser and to carry out the corresponding registration in the National Genetic Data Bank.
