President Javier Milei will travel this Monday evening to Oslo (Norway) to accompany the opposition leader of Nicolás Maduro's government and founder of the center-right space Vente Venezuela, María Corina Machado, to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. Days ago, Milei had received a personal invitation from Machado, and during this weekend, he finally confirmed his presence with a return scheduled for Friday, the 12th. The stay in the Nordic country will be short due to the legislative sessions beginning on Wednesday, the 10th, which will formally start the extraordinary period in Congress to debate the 2026 Budget and the package of reforms related to labor, tax, and pension areas. In October of this year, Machado was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her 'tireless work in favor of the democratic rights of the Venezuelan people and for her struggle,' a reason for which the awarding committee considers 'a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy.' Currently, the leader of Vente Venezuela states that she 'lives in clandestinity within her country' and faces constant threats from the Maduro government and Diosdado Cabello. The ceremony, which will be attended by Milei and other leaders such as Santiago Peña (Paraguay) and Daniel Noboa (Ecuador), will take place on Wednesday, the 10th, at Oslo City Hall, where the prizes have been awarded since 1990, and will also be broadcast live on several virtual platforms.
