Buenos Aires, Dec 6 (NA) – La Libertad Avanza denounced that a group of municipal officials from José C. Paz attacked militants who were carrying out a political activity and demanded a public stance from Governor Axel Kicillof, according to a communiqué accessed by the Argentine News Agency. The movement stated that the incident occurred under the leadership of Mayor Mario Ishii and maintained that it was “a cowardly attack organized from the local and provincial government to intimidate those who come to change things”. According to the information disseminated, the victims were identified as David, 39, with a fractured jaw and rib and tooth loss; Benjamin, 16, thrown to the floor and kicked; Romina, 39, dragged by her hair and beaten; Francisco, 17, beaten when he tried to stop the aggression against a family member and pointed at with a weapon by a municipal police officer; Mery, 17, beaten, scratched and spat on; a gendarmerie officer with a fractured nose who did not want to be identified for fear of reprisals; and Claudia, a retired teacher, injured after being hit by chairs. LLA affirmed that the violence occurred when militants were about to participate in the swearing-in of their councilors and questioned that “when La Libertad Avanza grows and challenges privileges, kirchnerism feels cornered and responds with physical and verbal violence”. The communiqué demanded that Justice “act immediately against the political and material responsible parties” and warned that it will not allow “the State to be used to persecute the opposition”. IP The party stated that “violence is not going to intimidate us” and that the incident “leaves it evident that kirchnerism has lost control and its narrative”.
