Argentina Poll: Distrust in Government and Opposition Leaders

Argentina Poll: Distrust in Government and Opposition Leaders

A national poll by Atlas Intel, the consultancy that accurately predicted the libertarian surge ahead of the presidential election, has once again shaken the Argentine political landscape by revealing a widespread climate of distrust towards the main leaders of the ruling coalition and the opposition. The survey confirms this duality: +24% positive and -57% negative. Despite this, Vice President Victoria Villarruel, strategic advisor Santiago Caputo, and the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, top the rankings. Their intermittent public presence and displacement from the center of decision-making within the ruling coalition have not prevented them from maintaining a firm, albeit minority, core of support. Even those leading the ranking do so with more rejections than approvals, a fact that cuts across both government and opposition figures alike, exposing the challenges of governability and representability the country faces. For the President, however, the data is significant as it marks the end of a downward trend that had persisted between August and October, paralleling economic uncertainty. Governor of Buenos Aires Axel Kicilloff and former President Cristina Kirchner, who complete the podium behind the President, have shown a decline in their performance compared to the previous month. In contrast, most opposition leaders retreated in November.
