Buenos Aires, Nov 27 (NA) - Security Minister and elected National Senator Patricia Bullrich waded into the internal affairs of the Argentine Football Association (AFA) by publicly expressing her support for Juan Sebastián Verón and launching harsh criticism against the current president of the body, Claudio 'Chiqui' Tapia. 'Tapia, with the same old caste and mafia,' Bullrich wrote on her X (ex Twitter) account, taking a stance amid the debate within Argentine football over the institutional future of the AFA and the Copa de La Liga. The official, who will assume her seat in the Senate starting December 10, added: 'As clear as that. Verón is with the real fan. Although I think it's already quite dirty.' The publication, highlighted by the Argentine News Agency, came amid growing discontent from some Argentine football leaders with Tapia's leadership and following recent moves by Verón, the current president of Estudiantes de La Plata. 'In this country, you have to choose sides: football or business,' she wrote. In her message, Bullrich concluded with a phrase of strong symbolic tone: 'The ball doesn't get dirty. As simple as that.'
