Re-elected deputy from the La Libertad Avanza alliance, Diego Santilli, after the national legislative elections, will be the new Minister of the Interior in President Javier Milei's government. He will have to resign from his parliamentary seat. His place will be taken by Rubén Torres, a man from the Buenos Aires-based shipowner Santiago Pareja, who continues to strengthen his power in the Chamber of Deputies and in the Legislature of the Province of Buenos Aires. Torres will enter from the nineteenth place, after the National Electoral Court granted the request of the libertarians for Santilli to head the list in PBA, following the scandal with José Luis Espert. In his Instagram profile, Torres describes himself as a 'defender of the ideas of freedom'. 'I work so that Argentina is a country of opportunities, progress and greatness,' says his brief biography. The changes pushed by Milei take place within the framework of a reconfiguration of the national cabinet, which included the departure of former Chief of Staff Guillermo Francos last Friday. Santilli will take over from Lisandro Catalán, another man from Francos's circle.
