Governor of La Pampa Calls for Dialogue on Budget

Governor of La Pampe province Sergio Ziliotto announced his willingness to cooperate with the new federal government to "get what rightfully belongs to the province, not taking away from others." He called for a national budget debate and noted that his region intends to participate in forming policies that protect all layers of society. "We will always be ready for dialogue and for issuing strategies that unite everyone," concluded the politician, commenting on an invitation from Argentine President Javier Milei.

Despite the success of the Freedom Party in the recent elections, Ziliotto noted that the "Partispo Khustisialista" party retained influence by reclaiming one of the seats it lost in 2021. "Despite the strong libertarian wave, Peronism remains strong. We returned to the position that belongs to us," he stated in an interview on the Splendid AM990 radio station. In his opinion, the elections showed an increase in polarization: "Those who took moderate positions or wavered are now excluded from the results."

Ziliotto noted that no political force will get an absolute majority in the new parliament, which creates the prerequisites for compromises. "We expect the president to fulfill his promise of a broad dialogue to implement reforms," he added, calling for the elimination of mechanisms that allow the government to make decisions without direct agreement with the legislative corps.
