Poor Performance of Provincias Unidas in Argentine Midterms

The debut of the Provincias Unidas political alliance was disappointing, winning only eight seats in the Chamber of Deputies. The party attributes its poor results to the polarization between La Libertad Avanza and Fuerza Patria. The alliance's leader, Juan Schiaretti, failed to retain his seat in Córdoba, and the party also performed poorly in key provinces like Santa Fe and Buenos Aires.

Coalition "Provincial Unification", created in Argentina before the elections, did not achieve the desired results: it only received all the mandates in the Province of Deputies. When they entered this stage, the electoral result was linked with the fact that the choices fell on the "polarizing" platform of the ultra-liberal platform "La Libertad Avanza" (LLA) and the "Patritiots" party. In the coalition's primary, in the key region, Cordoba, "La Libertad Avanza" won with 42.3% of the votes, while "Provincial Unification" secured 28.2%. Three mandates in the region, including a governor and a candidate from the Juan Schiaretti formula, received the opportunity. In the block "Vamos Corrientes" (the "Provincial Unification" party), one mandate was won with 33.91% of the votes, surpassing "La Libertad Avanza", which managed to gain in the region, and the block "Patritiots". The analytical result showed the coalition's victory in Buenos Aires and Huacu, where the "Grand Electors" were Martin Lusto, who received one mandate. In Santa Fe (primary), the segment of the coalition under the governor of Maximo Pularo received 18.3% of the votes, but could not overcome the necessary primary barrier. The same happened in the Argentine capital, where the list of candidates Florencio Randazzo received less than 2.5% of the votes. The internal minister of the Cordoba and the head of the "Provincial Unification" campaign, Manuel Calvo, stated that the main goal of the campaign was "to support the two 'tables' and take more". "Every place in Congress is important, especially in the current situation in the country. Every mandate allows us to continue working for the Argentines. To develop the production and working spheres, which are needed by Argentina," he concluded.
