The former presidential candidate and leader of the Renovation Front, Sergio Massa, expressed today his satisfaction with the appointment of the new Pope Leo XIV, calling it "great news" in a world characterized by polarization and hostility.

In his comments, Massa highlighted the election of the American Supreme Pontiff, Robert Prevost, identifying him as the successor of Leo XIII, who was the creator of the Church's social doctrine. Massa emphasized the importance that Leo XIV places on defending the most vulnerable, recognizing the disparity of conditions between the rich and the poor and the fundamental role that the State must play in this context.

In addition, Massa praised Leo XIV's decision to start his papacy speaking in Spanish, highlighting his Latin American connection due to his Peruvian origin. The Argentine politician mentioned that the new Pope is a follower of Francis and inherits his approach of being close to the most needy.
