Kirchnerism Triumphs Despite Proscription Allegations

Kirchnerism denounced proscription in the Buenos Aires election; however, PRO achieved a triumph thanks to the support of certain senators who tipped the balance in their favor. One of the main advocates of this result was Silvia Lospennato, a candidate for Buenos Aires legislator and deputy, known for her work on the Clean Record project.

The differences between PRO and LLA, the libertarian group, were present for several days, as the latter resisted granting victory to Lospennato, who was competing with the presidential spokesperson, Manuel Adorni, in the City. Despite this, PRO achieved its goal and obtained the desired result.

The climax of this dispute occurred on April 22, when the senator and LLA bloc leader, Ezequiel Atauche, requested that the project not be included in the agenda of a session honoring Pope Francis. During the meeting, Atauche acknowledged to the dialoguing legislators the Government's position not to address the Clean Record that week or on May 7.

This declaration surprised those present and highlighted the tensions and strategies that developed around the project.
