Political Analysis in Buenos Aires Ahead of Elections

National Deputy Cristian Ritondo analyzed the political scenario in the province of Buenos Aires and the negotiations between the PRO and La Libertad Avanza ahead of the elections. Ritondo referred to Santiago Caputo's presence at the Libertad Foundation dinner as a possible gesture of rapprochement to Karina Milei, who would be more reluctant to an alliance.

Regarding the formation of legislative lists following the suspension of the PASO in the province, Ritondo confirmed that La Libertad Avanza insists that the first place be for José Luis Espert, which could sideline leaders from the PRO. "We will assert the territoriality that the PRO has," he stated.

In a key passage of the interview, Ritondo made a strong self-criticism about the recent past of the space: “The internal struggle deprived the PRO of being in government in 2023,” he concluded, referring to the divisions that prevented a unified strategy. Lastly, he expressed that any potential agreement with La Libertad Avanza should not exclude any sector with territorial weight: “People would not forgive us for leaving the province again served to Kicillof,” he concluded.

When asked about the state of the discussions, Ritondo admitted that “there is good predisposition,” but recognized that the main obstacles have not yet been resolved. “The first thing is to agree on what kind of province we want for the future,” the legislator explained in dialogue with Rivadavia AM 630, noting that they are still in an initial stage of dialogue.
