New Security Measures for Sports Events

The National Security Ministry of Argentina has implemented a new regulation prohibiting individuals who disrupt public order from attending football matches. This measure aims to enhance safety at sporting events.

New Security Measures for Sports Events

The National Security Ministry, under the direction of Patricia Bullrich, has officially announced that individuals who disrupt traffic during protests or cause disturbances on public roads could be added to the registry restricting access to sporting events, which would prevent them from entering football stadiums across the country. The measure, published in the Official Gazette, expands the criteria for exclusion from football events, as part of the "zero tolerance" policy towards violence in football.

According to the resolution, those who will be subject to the prohibition are individuals who generate disturbances on public roads disturbing safety, order, or traffic; participate in violent acts inside or outside the stadium before, during, or after the match; or are charged, processed, or convicted for drug-related crimes in the context of a football event.

This provision took place hours before a demonstration by retirees at Congress, supported by followers of different football clubs advocating for better pensions. The Ministry of Security has emphasized that the purpose of the measure is to strengthen preventive tools to ensure safety at sporting events and prevent the presence of individuals involved in incidents on public roads.
