In a year with provincial elections in 13 of the 24 districts of the country, polls about what happens in each jurisdiction and the image of their respective governors become particularly relevant. In recent hours, the polling firm CB Consultora Opinión Pública published its latest edition of the monthly ranking of the image of Argentine governors, as well as comparing the performance of both Javier Milei and Cristina Kirchner throughout the country.

In the section on mayors, the consulting firm identified those with the best image, with three "dialoguers" on the podium who, despite having several conflicts with the President at the beginning of his administration, have aligned positions with the liberal government over the months. At the bottom of the table, meanwhile, was none other than Axel Kicillof, affected by the recent episodes of insecurity in the province of Buenos Aires, which occupied the front pages of the media for several days.

Conducted from March 1 to 4 among 17,994 adults across the country, the survey revealed that of the 24 governors, 11 improved their image compared to the previous survey released in early February. The three best-rated governors this month by their compatriots are: Ignacio Torres (Chubut) leading with a 62.4% approval rating. Maximiliano Pullaro (Santa Fe) with 61.7%. Osvaldo Jaldo (Tucumán) with a 60.9% positive image.

"Except for the Tucumán governor, who has shown loyalty to Milei from day one, the other two officials have 'softened' over time and, even with specific criticisms of the national administration, have supported various initiatives of the Executive from their positions," the report stated. Pullaro was also the provincial leader who grew the most compared to the February measurement, with a variation of 1.4%. Other governors close to the podium were the San Juanian Marcelo Orrego (59.9%), the Chaco Leandro Zdero (58.5%) and the Corrientes Gustavo Valdés (58%).

In contrast, the situation of Axel Kicillof (43.1%), Jorge Macri (41.5%) and the Salteño Gustavo Sáenz, who ranked at the bottom of the ranking. The Buenos Aires governor fell by 2.5% compared to the last measurement, primarily affected by the events surrounding the murder of the minor Kim Gómez during a robbery in La Plata, along with other incidents of insecurity in the province.

In another context, the CB poll also measured President Javier Milei and Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, president of the Justicialist Party and main opposition figure. The results showed that the libertarian surpasses CFK in the vast majority of the provinces of the country, except for Santiago del Estero and Formosa. His greatest support is found in Mendoza (64.0%), Córdoba (63.7%) and San Luis (62.7%), while CFK obtains her best records in Santiago del Estero (58.3%), Formosa (47.8%) and Tucumán (42.9%).

The contrast is more pronounced in provinces like Córdoba and Mendoza, where Milei's positive image exceeds that of CFK by more than 40 points. In contrast, in Santiago del Estero, Cristina Kirchner leads with 58.3%, marking a difference of 24.6 points in favor of CFK.
