Two young men aged 22 and 24 were arrested by the City Police after receiving reports that both were armed and riding a motorcycle with a backpack bearing the logo of a delivery app.
The incident occurred when officers from Neighborhood Police Station 1 B, patrolling 9 de Julio Avenue towards Constitución, spotted a motorcycle moving slowly with occupants showing interest in the interiors of passing vehicles.
After refusing to stop despite the officers' signals, a chase ensued, which ended a few meters later at the intersection of Lima and Alsina Streets, where they were finally detained.
"After identifying them, it was confirmed that they were two Venezuelan citizens aged 22 and 24, who, after a search in the presence of witnesses, were found with a .38 caliber firearm and a knife," police sources reported.
The passenger was carrying a backpack with the logo of a delivery app, which they used as a strategy to mislead authorities by pretending to be delivery drivers for the company.
The Eastern Flagrancy Unit, led by Carlos Caputto, ordered the detention of the suspects, accused of the crime of illegal possession of a weapon, and also ordered the seizure of the items used in the crime.
