National Deputy Danya Tavela (URC-Democracy Forever) described the incident between presidential advisor Santiago Caputo and legislator Facundo Manes as "very serious" and expressed her concern about the relationship between the Executive Branch and Congress, warning that it will be affected due to the lack of self-criticism from the Government.
In a radio interview, Tavela condemned the acts of violence involving Manes and pointed out that the verbal aggression from President Javier Milei towards the deputies does not contribute to an atmosphere of respect and dialogue in politics. The deputy mentioned that it is common for the President to retweet violent and threatening content, which fuels confrontation instead of promoting constructive discussion.
The legislator confirmed that a report will be filed for threats against Caputo and emphasized the importance of not downplaying the seriousness of such incidents. Tavela criticized the Government's attitude, stating that violence is a problem that has manifested repeatedly in various areas and must be addressed seriously.
Regarding the presidential speech, Tavela lamented the lack of emphasis on issues such as education, health, pensions, and work, in contrast to the request for support for an agreement with the IMF, which she considered unclear. The deputy anticipated that the relationship with Congress would be affected as the Government does not take responsibility for its actions and does not seek dialogue as a means of conflict resolution.
