Milei Accuses Clarín of Economic Manipulation

Libertarian economist Javier Milei launched harsh criticisms against the Clarín Group, which he described as "the great Argentine fraud," warning about its potential dominance in the telecommunications market. Milei accused the media group of pressuring governments for its own benefit, even at the expense of Argentinians, and denounced its attempt to control 70% of communications in Argentina.

In an extensive message published, Milei expressed his commitment to protecting Argentinians from potential abuses of a dominant position in the telecommunications sector. Referring to a supposed closeness between the Clarín Group and political decisions, the economist stated that the multimedia company seeks to maintain its control despite the interests of the population.

President Javier Milei shared his opinion on the situation, taking a firm stance against the Clarín Group and ensuring that he will not allow them to continue harming Argentine citizens: "We will not let them keep robbing Argentinians." In his statements, he emphasized the importance of protecting the population from potential abuses resulting from the dominance of a single economic group in the telecommunications field.

Referring to past episodes, Milei recalled a meeting that took place in 2002 during Duhalde's presidency, where figures like Magnetto were present, hinting at possible agreements that may have benefited the Clarín Group during times of financial crisis. Furthermore, the economist warned about the potential consequences of concentrating power in the hands of a single group in the communications sector, suggesting that this could lead to situations of lack of competition and abusive prices for consumers.
