The national broadcast led by President Javier Milei for the opening of ordinary sessions of Congress marked a drastic loss of audience compared to his first speech: it achieved a rating of 8.4 points, in contrast to the 16.9 points reached during his inauguration, which means a decrease of more than 50% in less than three months.
On this occasion, the transmission lasted 1 hour and 32 minutes, starting at 20:55, and a decrease in public interest was observed compared to the previous speech in December 2024. This decline in audience was reflected in the comparison with other open television programs, as both Telefe with its show "Pasapalabra" and TV Pública with "Carnaval de los Tekis" and motorsport surpassed Milei's national broadcast in ratings.
In the overall ranking, the official channel did not manage to place itself among the most watched content of the day, being surpassed by Telefe and El Trece. Telefe led with an average of 3.7 points, while El Trece obtained 2.7 points. The program "Pasapalabra" was crowned as the most watched with 4.3 points, followed by "The Simpsons" with 3.9 points. The transmission of the opening of sessions on El Trece reached 3.0 points, below the movie "Shaft" with 3.4 points.
In the rest of the evaluated channels, the numbers were even lower, reflecting a growing disinterest in government broadcasts and marking a stark contrast with the expectation that existed last December. Indeed, President Milei's speech fell below productions like movies and reality shows, highlighting the low audience level reached on this occasion.
