Controversial Remarks in Argentine Senate Discussed

Senator Bartolomé Abdala from the La Libertad Avanza party spoke about several current issues, including the controversy surrounding the presidential decree appointing judges Ariel Lijo and Manuel García-Mansilla. Abdala stated that if the Senate rejects these appointments, the judges should not continue in their positions and new nominations should be made.

Abdala expressed his support for the presidential decree, considering it necessary and timely, but emphasized the importance of the decision made by the Senate. He highlighted that the judges, while in office, have validity in the documents they sign.

Regarding the altercation between President Javier Milei and Vice President Victoria Villarruel, Abdala downplayed the matter, calling it a minor issue. Concerning another incident, the altercation between Deputy Facundo Manes and presidential advisor Santiago Caputo, he stated that there was no violence but rather an altered dialogue, although he admitted he had not spoken to the parties involved.

In his statements to Radio Rivadavia, Abdala emphasized that in the event of rejection of the nominations by the Senate, the questioned judges should not remain in their positions. He reaffirmed his commitment to work towards achieving the Senate's approval of the presidential appointments.
