Deputy Facundo Manes, belonging to the Democracy for Ever bloc, was assaulted after the Legislative Assembly. In the videos circulating on social media, one can see how Manes is intercepted by Santiago Caputo, a presidential advisor and close associate of Javier Milei, with whom Manes had a prior verbal confrontation.
Manes reported that Caputo threatened him, saying: "Now you're going to listen to me, I'm going to turn the whole State against you." Subsequently, the deputy received two punches, which he attributed to individuals from the libertarian advisor's circle. The influencer Fran Fijap, affiliated with the ruling party, was also involved in the altercation.
The situation generated significant controversy and raised suspicions about the relationship between the assault on Manes and the prior conflict within Congress. The Democracy for Ever bloc condemned the attack and linked the incident to a situation in which Manes displayed a National Constitution during a presidential speech.
This event has attracted public attention and highlighted the political and personal tensions within the Argentine legislative sphere. Facundo Manes has expressed his intention to take legal action for the assaults suffered during the Legislative Assembly.
