A group of eight mayors from Buenos Aires has criticized President Javier Milei for his comments about the governor of the province, Axel Kicillof, regarding insecurity in their districts. The mayors demanded greater cooperation between the Nation and the Province on issues of security, health, and infrastructure.
In a joint statement, the mayors expressed their dissatisfaction with Milei's stance and urged him to focus on working together with the governor of the Province to address challenges in areas such as security, health, and infrastructure. They also highlighted the importance of collaboration between the Nation, Province, and Municipality to find effective solutions.
The mayors also called for the reinstatement of the Fiscal Strengthening Fund, which they claim was illegally withdrawn from the Province. They believe that these resources are key to investing and providing the necessary tools to ensure security in their municipalities.
In their statement, the mayors emphasized the importance of resolving conflicts without resorting to violence, always prioritizing social peace as a path to effective solutions. The document was signed by a number of mayors from various municipalities in Buenos Aires, including Francisco Echarren, Juan Pablo García, Juan Manuel Álvarez, among others.
