Milei Defends Argentina's Economic Progress Amid Disruptions

Argentine President Javier Milei has shown courage facing Argentina's chronic fiscal deficit, which has affected the country for several generations. During his ninth official visit to the United States, he participated in the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) and held meetings with Elon Musk and Kristalina Georgieva, the director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

During his presentation at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) headquarters, Milei addressed the achievements of his economic model, highlighting the decrease in monthly inflation and the recovery in indicators such as employment, real wages, and investment. However, his speech was interrupted by constant calls to his cell phone, forcing him to stop momentarily.

Accompanied by members of his delegation, Milei also met with Ajay Banga, president of the World Bank, to strengthen relations between Argentina and the institution. Despite the incident with the phone calls, Milei managed to resume his presentation and continued to expound his vision on the country's economic situation.

The president expressed his irritation at the interruptions, labeling the person responsible for the calls as a "born idiot." This episode adds to other instances where Milei has expressed his discomfort at similar situations. Nonetheless, the event continued without further issues once the intentional calls were silenced.

In his speech, Milei defended his economic policies and criticized the concept of "social justice," calling it immoral and disastrous. He also highlighted the results of his management and his confrontational ideological stance. Despite the criticism and controversies, Milei is preparing to meet with Donald Trump at CPAC, where he will discuss the achievements of his administration and his vision for the future of Argentina.
