The president of the Radical bloc, Eduardo Vischi, voted against the formation of a commission to investigate Criptogate, despite having supported the request submitted by a legislator from his party. Although the vote received 47 affirmative votes, the initiative needed two-thirds of the full assembly, that is, 48 votes, to be approved. The rejection received 23 votes, including that of the head of the Radical bloc.
The request had been driven by UCR senator Pablo Blanco and had the support of Vischi with his signature. Thus, President Javier Milei's intervention in the cryptocurrency market will not be investigated by the Senate. Among the negative votes, in addition to Vischi, were radicals Víctor Zimmerman (Chaco), Stella Maris Olalla (Entre Ríos), Mariana Juri (Mendoza), Eduardo Galaretto (Santa Fe), and Mercedes Valenzuela (Corrientes).
Additionally, this group was joined by PRO with the exception of senator Guadalupe Tagliaferri (CABA), who later requested the interrogation of the Chief of Cabinet, Guillermo Francos, which was denied. Almost the entire bloc of Las Provincias Unidas also rejected the creation of the investigative commission, led by Juan Carlos Romero (Salta), Carlos Espínola (Corrientes), Lucila Crexell (Neuquén), and Alejandra Vigo (Córdoba).
