Milei's Economic Reforms Show Tangible Results

President Milei has completed a year in office and has faced several challenges with his innovative economic reforms that are already yielding tangible results. The president of the IDB praised Argentina's reduction of the primary deficit from 2.9% to 1.8% in relation to GDP, as well as the cessation of monetary financing from the BCRA for this deficit.

After his presentation at the IDB, Milei and his official team headed to the World Bank, where they were received by its president, Ajay Banga, who plans to visit Buenos Aires in April. As a result of President Milei's brief tour of the United States, a commitment of $1 billion in credits was secured.

During the meeting with the IDB president, the Brazilian Ilan Goldfajn expressed his support for Argentina's macroeconomic direction and announced possible funding of around $1 billion for 2025. Both agreed in criticizing state intervention in economic matters, and Milei reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining fiscal balance.

In his presentation at the IDB, Milei addressed the topic "The Argentine Economic Model." Goldfajn praised President Milei's work in addressing Argentina's fiscal deficit and transforming it into a surplus of 1.8% by the end of 2024. He highlighted the rationalization and simplification of regulations in the country that have had positive effects in the short and long term, including a decrease in monthly inflation to 2% and a recovery in real activity indicators like employment, wages, and investment.

From the beginning, Goldfajn has highlighted the economic management of the libertarian government led by Milei.
