Controversy Surrounds Javier Milei's Cryptocurrency Ties

The porteño legislator and co-founder of La Libertad Avanza (LLA), Eugenio Casielles, commented that the dissemination of the cryptocurrency $LIBRA was marked by negligence and lack of clarity, complicating the relationship between the digital currency and the president of the Nation, Javier Milei. In an interview on Radio Splendid AM 990, Casielles pointed out that although Milei did not act dishonestly, it is imperative that his team provides clear and prompt answers regarding it.

In his statements, Casielles emphasized the need to clarify the facts related to $LIBRA without manipulations or speculations, both to preserve the presidential office and to maintain the country's international image. He also highlighted that the investigation into this issue should not fall into the hands of the presidency, as he believes that acting as judge and party is contrary to liberal principles.

Regarding two close collaborators of the president, Santiago Caputo and presidential spokesperson Manuel Adorni, Casielles opined that Caputo's original role as a strategist has evolved to become a communication advisor with greater responsibilities. Regarding Adorni, he was more critical, expressing his disdain and considering him a nefarious person for mocking those who lost their jobs in the previous year.

Finally, concerning 'Cryptogate', the legislator proposed the creation of an investigative commission in the Chamber of Deputies to clarify the facts and provide transparency to the citizenship. Casielles stressed that the truly concerning aspect is the impact on the 45 million Argentines who will face the consequences of this long-term decision-making system, especially when a president claims ignorance on crucial issues.
